Workplace Strategy and Office Fitout

The workplace strategy was founded upon the findings of a Utilisation Survey, Employee Survey, Leadership Team Visioning and a strategic Working Styles – Workshop Series. These activities identified Iluka’s current workplace requirements and their vision for the future, as well as developing an understanding of their culture and values. The end outcome of the workplace strategy provided an opportunity to design a workplace that specifically addressed these items, resulting in a workplace design which provided plenty of opportunity for flexible and collaborative work, through the implementation of various dedicated working settings.

Following completion of the workplace strategy, ACORPP managed the procurement of the consultant team and led the team to design a fitout which responded to the workplace strategy, obtaining Client signoff’s at major milestones of the design process, and ensuring the alignment of the cost estimate with the budget at every stage. Several value management exercises were undertaken when cost overruns were identified, with the project ultimately being delivered within the overall project budget.

There were several challenges encountered during the fitout works, one of which was the late change of the mechanical design in the exposed ceiling areas. ACORPP worked with the engineers, the contractor and the Client to minimise the programme and cost impact to achieve a favourable outcome for all parties. Ultimately the success of this project was attributed to open and prompt communication with all parties to allow issues to be dealt without compromising the fitout quality or the project budget and programme.
